Avoid Fraud:
While elclasificado.com makes every effort to block fraudulent and illegal advertisements on the site, in the possibility that you are questioning the legitimacy of an ad on the site, here are ways that you can avoid fraud:
Ensure that you are dealing with a reputable seller. Requests for payment via money wire, gift cards, postal service, money orders, or secondary escrow service should be considered scams.
Do not deposit checks or money orders in your bank and then withdraw any of that balance until the check has cleared. If the check is fake, you are responsible for the any of the amount withdrawn before the bank is able to verify the check.
Do not send payment/deposits for home or apartment rentals without being able to look inside the property either by obtaining a key from the owner/property management company or by meeting with an authorized leasing representative and being able to enter the property.
Do not share your financial information (e.g. social security number, bank account number, PayPal information, or any other monetary service provider).
Do not accept any shipping arrangement outside of the elclasificado.com platform.
While meeting with the seller face-to-face can be preferable to avoid fraud, it is also recommended that if you do meet to arrange a transaction that you meet at a SafeStation. These locations are often provided by many local police stations around the United States. For your own safety it is recommended to meet there as these locations are monitored by police. It is also recommended that if you are carrying a large amount of cash in order to complete a transaction that you do not make it visible until the time of the transaction.
Important note: ElClasificado.com does not participate in or is it an intermediary in transactions of products and services advertised. Therefore, it does not handle payments, guarantee transactions, offer buyer or seller protection, or provide escrow services.
Who should I notify about fraud or scam attempts?

How to recognize scams
Many scams include one or more of the following warning signs:
The seller is located far away or overseas.
The seller asks you to pay through Western Union, Money Gram, or with a cashier's check.
The seller does not want to meet in person before the transaction.
The seller asks you to send the money first and promises to ship the product later.
